FAQ’s

These are the most common questions we get from potential clients and our valued customers.  If your question is not answered here, please click the contact us link to ask your question.

1. How do I rent a unit or reserve a unit?

You can do either by coming into the office or by phone. You will need to sign a lease agreement, prepay one month’s rent and pay a deposit that is refundable if the unit is left clean and all debris removed from the facility.

2. What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express.

3. What type of identification do I need to rent a unit?

You will need an original state issued Photo ID with current address and phone number. You need to be at least 18 years old to rent a unit.

storage-spaces4. Do you provide insurance?

No. However, we recommend that you have insurance to cover your goods. Check with your insurance company to see if you are covered; if not, free customer storage insurance brochures are available in the office. We suggest that you make a list of the items you store and take a photograph.

5. Do I need a lock?

Yes. You may provide your own lock or we sell a heavy duty disc padlock at a very reasonable price. Only you will have the key or combination to your lock.

6. Do I need a climate controlled unit?

The majority of our tenants are using non-climate controlled storage units. Climate controlled units are used for vendors, business records, collectibles, musical instruments, artwork, fine furniture, etc.

7. When will my payment be due each month?

If you move in on the sixth of the month, your payment will always be due on the sixth of the following months (called the anniversary date). We do not bill each month; the rent is automatically due on the anniversary date.

8. When am I considered late and what are the penalties?

You are late the day after your anniversary date. If you are due on the sixth of the month, then you will be considered late on the seventh of the month. Two days after the due date, you will be denied access to the gate. Five days after the due date, you will be assessed a $5 late fee.

Everyone has a code; no two codes are alike. You must use the code entering and exiting Crawford County Storage, Inc., and accessing the climate controlled units if you are renting one.

10. Who will have access to my storage unity?

When you rent a unit, you will be asked for names of people who have permission to gain access to your unit. Persons not on the list are not to be on the property. The tenant is responsible for the actions of those they designate with permission to enter.

11. When do I have access to my unit?

You can gain access to your storage unit 5:00 am to 10:00 pm seven days a week. Upon request, 24 hour access can be given.

12. What about security?

Crawford county Storage, Inc., is totally fenced and gated. Access is provided by means of a computer controlled gate. Individual access codes are provided only to tenants. Gate operating software identifies the gate code used and the time of each entry and exit from our facility. There are 16 strategically placed video surveillance cameras recording all activities 24 hours a day.

13. What about pests and rodents?

Our facility is monitored and maintained regularly by a professional pest and rodent elimination company.

14. What do I need to do when I move out?

You need to notify the office to prevent monthly charges. It is important that you leave the unit empty and clean in order to collect your deposit. Removing your goods and removing the lock does not constitute a move out.
